TaRL Africa is seeking quotations for proofreading services for various documents and materials. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of written content produced by TaRL Africa, including reports, training materials, and communication documents. The proofreader will work closely with the communications team to maintain high-quality standards and uphold TaRL Africa's brand voice, adhering to British English conventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Proofread and edit documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting errors
  • Ensure consistency in style, tone, and terminology across all written materials, following British English conventions
  • Provide suggestions for improving clarity, coherence, and overall quality of written content
  • Collaborate with writers and editors to address any issues or concerns regarding the content
  • Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality proofread documents in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a proofreader or editor, preferably in the education or development sector
  • Excellent command of British English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in written content
  • Familiarity with British English style guides such as Oxford or Cambridge
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other editing software is preferred
